Giving Back with a Smile

At Aura Orthodontics, we do more than just straighten teeth. We (Dr. Sharma and his team) work hard to build into the lives of our patients. We help kids learn personal responsibility, give them the tools they need to achieve their goals and encourage them along the way. Dr. Sharma celebrates their victories and successes with them, whether it’s through their academic success, sporting events, musicals, concerts, community events or humanitarian efforts.

So with this in mind and the New Year upon us, we are are given the opportunity to reflect on what we are all thankful for. We live in amazing community and we want our patients to continue to develop and be mindful of those less fortunate.

There are many families in need of clothing this winter in our area. Bring pre-worn, washed clothing and give generously – help us keep everyone warm. Aura Orthodontics wants you to help us help the less fortunate.

Here are the details: This January our office is hosting a Clothing Drive to benefit those in need of clothes. We will be linking up with a local non-profit organization that helps people in our community.

In our office, you will find boxes in our reception area and we encourage you to look around your own closets and drawers for clothes you may no longer need or have outgrown.

In the first week of February, all the clothing will be donated and from there they will be distributed to local families. Every year in the Lower Mainland, hundreds of local families struggle to afford clothing, especially during the winter season. So join us in bringing our community some New Year cheer. Visit our office today and help us donate clothing to local families.

Resolution Focus

2013 is almost here and many of our patients consider the beginning of a new year a time to not only reflect on the year that was, but also to set personal goals for the upcoming year. How are you planning to improve your health and happiness in 2013? Because it’s never too early to start thinking about New Year’s resolutions, we recommend that you make a New Year’s resolution to benefit your oral health.

It’s important that New Year’s resolutions are reasonable and attainable, and that they improve your overall quality of life—for example, did you know that flossing every day is the very best way to prevent gum disease during your orthodontic treatment? Using a straw when drinking sugary beverages can also help prevent cavities while you’re wearing braces. There are many small steps that you can take to prevent cavities and keep your gorgeous teeth healthy.

The New Year is also a great time of year to get started on a lifetime of straight, dazzling and confident smiles. So if you have been humming and hawing about getting braces – we would like to remind you we are proud to offer some of today’s most innovative orthodontic technologies that can straighten your smile in less time than you ever imagined.

If your resolution is to attain a great-looking smile, we’d love to help. Please give us a call and schedule your initial consultation. We look forward to working with you and your family. Happy holidays!
