The Invisalign treatment procedure relies on a variety of digital tools. Read on to find out how our Diamond Invisalign Providers* treat your smile using the custom clear aligners.

1
Consult With a Diamond Invisalign Provider*
During your initial consultation, you’ll discuss your case in detail with Dr. Sharma, Dr. Lin or Dr. Koo, Certified Specialists in Orthodontics, so they can determine if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign. Invisalign treatment now addresses many cases, from simple to more complex, and we have a history of treating patients who wouldn’t be candidates for clear aligners at other practices! During the consultation, you’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about Invisalign treatment, the cost, your dental/orthodontic insurance or any other concerns.

2
Create A 3D Image Of Your Teeth
Dr. Sharma, Dr. Koo or Dr. Lin will use the iTero Element Scanner to take digital impressions of your teeth and gums (no messy impressions here!). From the scan, they can access a 3D model of your mouth, which they’ll use to map out your precise treatment plan, including the exact movements of your teeth. They will also be able to show you a virtual representation of how your teeth will look at each stage of the treatment.
3
Receive Your Custom Aligners
Based on your individual treatment plan, a series of custom-made, clear aligners is created specifically for you. These aligners are made of smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic that won’t irritate your cheeks and gums like traditional metal braces often do. Simply wear them throughout the day and remove them when you eat or brush and floss your teeth. As you progress through each set of aligners, your teeth gently and gradually begin to shift into place. And because they’re virtually invisible, most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them.
4
Wear New Aligners Every Two Weeks
Approximately every one to two weeks, you’ll begin wearing a new set of aligners, advancing you to the next stage of your treatment. To monitor your progress, you’ll also have occasional check-ups with Dr. Sharma, Dr. Lin or Dr. Koo (usually every six weeks or so). For the best results and a timely outcome, make sure you wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day throughout the entire treatment.
5
Reveal Your New Smile
While every case is unique to each patient, treatment typically takes about a year for adults. For teens, the length of treatment is comparable to that of braces but since your teeth won’t be covered by brackets or wires, you’ll be able to see improvement much sooner. Once you’ve made your way through the entire series of aligners, you’ll be able to show off that smile that reflects the real you.
