Invisalign® Treatment

Are you considering Invisalign but worried you won’t have enough time to invest in the treatment? At Aura Orthodontics, we believe that getting a straighter smile is a team effort. And we promise to uphold our end of the bargain!

We know how busy life can get, which is why we focus on flexibility at every level of your Invisalign treatment. And speaking of making your life easier…we’ve compiled a list of 10 Invisalign tips and tricks to help you have the best possible teeth-straightening experience, regardless of what your schedule looks like.

10 Invisalign hacks for busy patients

Try these tips from our Langley and Surrey Invisalign providers to make treatment work for your lifestyle:

1. Start With a Virtual Consultation

Every treatment begins with a consultation. For your convenience, Aura Orthodontics offers both in-person and virtual consultations. A virtual consultation is an easy way to get personalized treatment recommendations and find out the basics from wherever you are.

Even if you opt for an in-person consultation, you’ll still have the option to submit information and photos of your smile via our website, so we can determine your treatment plan before your visit. This will save you time.

2. Get the Type of Treatment You Want

Dr. Vishal Sharma, Dr. Everett Lin and Dr. Julia Koo, certified specialists in orthodontics, provide flexible treatment plans. Thanks to their training and case experience, if an issue can be treated with braces, they can also treat it with Invisalign.

This means, if you have a more severe orthodontic problem, you’ll likely still be a candidate for Invisalign at Aura Orthodontics. Comprehensive Invisalign treatment is an excellent way to improve the alignment of your teeth and bite without braces.

But what if your teeth shifted after past braces treatment or you just have one or two crooked teeth? We also offer limited Invisalign treatment at our practice! Limited treatment has specific and targeted goals and doesn’t focus on the bite, but rather on cosmetic improvements. Think, progress not perfection. This type of treatment is usually completed in just four to eight months.

3. Text Us if You Need Us

No time to call and change your appointment or ask us a question during office hours? No problem! Text us directly from our website. A team member will text you back with an answer or get you rescheduled.

4. Take Advantage of Digital Tools

Choosing an all-digital practice like Aura Orthodontics for your Guildford, Scottsdale or Langley Invisalign treatment can help you spend less time at the orthodontist and more time living your life. We use tablets for digital signing, as well as digital records, which we can quickly share with your other providers if needed.

You can also say goodbye to those lengthy and messy dental impressions. Our iTero® Element scanner takes clear digital images of your teeth and gums in about two minutes. Our orthodontists are then able to create your treatment plan on a computerized, 3D model of your mouth.

Since the model is stored in our system, this also means we can replace lost Invisalign aligners or retainers without you having to come in for additional scans.

5. Speaking of Digital, Use Our Online Check-In Feature

If you have an orthodontic emergency or you want to ensure your treatment is on track without driving to the office, try an online check-in. Simply answer some questions about your situation and treatment and attach photos for us to review. An orthodontist will evaluate your details and let you know what your next steps are.

6. Let Our Team Handle the Insurance Paperwork

We strive to make Invisalign affordable and accept all insurance plans. If you have insurance that covers orthodontic treatment, it can reduce your out-of-pocket Invisalign cost. To streamline the process and make it easier for you, our team will process and file the insurance paperwork on your behalf!

7. Use the Invisalign App

The Invisalign app is helpful for keeping tabs on all aspects of your treatment. You can track upcoming appointments and set up reminders for when it’s time to switch to your next Invisalign tray. Getting notifications will give you one less thing you have to remember.

8. Swap Your Trays at Night

Invisalign doesn’t hurt, but your teeth can feel a little bit tender and sensitive when you start a new tray. One of our best Invisalign tips is to change to your next set of aligners right before bed. You’ll sleep through most of the sensitivity and wake up ready to power through your day.

9. Put Together an Invisalign Kit for When You’re On the Go

One of the biggest benefits of Invisalign is that the aligners are removable. This means you can brush and floss just like you normally do and you won’t need special tools. That said, you will have to care for your teeth and aligners during treatment to keep your smile healthy.

It’s especially important to remember to only put your aligners in when your teeth are clean. Otherwise, food debris, liquid and bacteria will get trapped between your aligners and your teeth, increasing your risk of tooth decay and staining.

To make things super convenient, put together a kit with a travel toothbrush, toothpaste and floss or floss picks. Keep it with you, so you can easily brush and floss after eating without too much effort.

Travel Toothbrush, Toothpaste and Floss or Floss picks.

10. Don’t throw away the last tray!

When you are ready to switch to your new set of Invisalign aligners, save the old set you just used. This way, if you misplace an aligner, you can pop in the previous one. It will prevent your teeth from shifting and you won’t lose any progress or time.
