We love moms here at Aura Orthodontics! Not only are many of our team members mothers, we also get to know the moms of our Abbotsford, Langley and Surrey Invisalign and braces patients and those who are in treatment themselves. With Mother’s Day 2019 approaching on Sunday, May 12, we thought we’d help you spoil the moms in your life by sharing some of the best Mother’s Day activities in the Fraser Valley.
1. Treat Mom to a Fraser Valley Mother’s Day Brunch
Various Locations – There are a host of Surrey, Abbotsford and Langley Mother’s Day brunch events. And, really, is there anything better than a meal filled with the perfect mix of sweet and savory? Some great choices include brunch at Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery, Newlands Golf & Country Club and Langley Golf & Banquet Centre in Langley, Restaurant 62 in Abbotsford and Morgan Creek Golf Course and Central City in Surrey.
2. Mother’s Day at The Glades Garden
561 172 Street, Surrey – Surprise mom with a trip to The Glades Garden for the annual Mother’s Day event in Surrey, BC. You can walk the trails, check out the heritage trees, bask in the reflection ponds, look at the gorgeous plants, enjoy live music by Caviar & Lace, and purchase a drink and snack from Roaming Coffee. The event will be held rain or shine and since parking is limited, shuttle service will be available from Darts Hill Garden Park (1633 170th Street). You can pre-register for one of two sessions: 10am to 1pm or 1pm to 4pm both on Sunday, May 12. Advance tickets are $5 per person. Tickets at the gate are $7 per person. However, children under 12 are free.
36737 North Parallel Road, Abbotsford – Spend the day frolicking in acres of picturesque tulip fields at the Abbotsford Tulip Festival. While it is dependent on the growing season and weather, last year, Mother’s Day was the final day of the festivities. Fingers crossed, this year you can enjoy the breathtaking beauty with mom. The festival will feature food trucks, a picnic area, a children’s play area, a flower market, u-pick sections and more. Purchase tickets here.
4. Go Wine Tasting
Various Locations – Wine tasting is one of the best Fraser Valley Mother’s Day activities considering the number of amazing wineries that call the area home. Stop at a winery on your way to dinner or make a day of it by putting together a wine tasting tour. Some of our favorite Fraser Valley wineries include Backyard Vineyards, Chaberton Estate Winery, Fentina Lente Estate Winery, Krause Berry Farm & Estate Winery, Maan Farms & Estate Winery, Mt. Lehman Winery, Ripples Winery, Seaside Pearl Winery, Singletree Winery and Township 7 Vineyard & Winery, to name a few.
